The Isle of Wight Children, Young People and their Families Plan 2009-2012
This is the Isle of Wight’s second strategic Children, Young People and their Families Partnership Plan, which covers the period from 2009 to 2012.

The Children, Young People and their Families Partnership knows that the Isle of Wight is a very special place in which to live, learn, work and play and is committed to providing high quality services and support.

The partnership has identified a vision, aspirations and targets for the next three years and the plan sets out how it will ensure children and young people are healthy; stay safe; can enjoy and achieve; make a positive contribution; and achieve economic well-being.

The plan is based on the views of children and young people, who have told us what is working well and where more needs to be done. It is also based on research into the needs of our young population. We have also taken account of feedback from people who are working closely to provide services and support for children, young people and families on the Island.

The plan sets out the successes and challenges so far and details the action we need to take over the next few years. The impact of this activity will be measured on an annual basis to ensure that good progress is made.
