Children’s Services Select Committee (formerly Education, Community Development and Lifelong Learning)

The Children’s Services Select Committee is made up of 9 Members appointed on a politically proportional basis together with 2 Parent Governor representatives and a representative from each of the Catholic and Church of England Diocesan Authorities and is responsible for making recommendations to the Executive and for monitoring and reviewing the Executive's decisions on the following areas:

adult education and lifelong learning
children’s services
education effectiveness
school planning and resources
the Council's role as a Local Education Authority
youth services
