RESOLVED :
THAT the Minutes of the meeting held on 1 August 2000 be confirmed.

52. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Mr M G Barton declared a non pecuniary interest in Minute 54 item 4 - Madeira Road, Woodland Cottage, Bonchurch Village Road, Ventnor

53. URGENT BUSINESS - PRIOR NOTIFICATION FOR A TELECOMMUNICATIONS INSTALLATION COMPRISING A 12M HIGH SLIMLINE LATTICE TOWER SUPPORTING 3 DUAL BAND POLAR ANTENNAE, 2 X 600MM MICROWAVE DISHES; ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT CABIN AND SECURITY FENCING NORTH OF WACKLANDS LANE AND REAR OF PROPERTIES FRONTING WINFORD ROAD, NEWCHURCH, SANDOWN

The Chairman agreed to an urgent item of business as a decision was required prior to the 42 day time limit for determination. The application was deferred from the Planning meeting on 11 July 2000 because the operator/agent had failed to comply with requirements to post a notice near to the proposed development site. The application was reconsidered at the Planning meeting on 1 August 2000 where it was further deferred in order to seek clarification from the applicant's agent on a number of issues and to obtain comments from the Planning Policy and Environment Manager.
RESOLVED :
The application was refused contrary to Officer recommendation on grounds of appearance and inappropriate siting.
