ContactPoint GuidanceWhat's this? The Guidance is issued under section 12(12) of the Children Act 2004, and sets out the key statutory requirements of section 12 and the Children Act 2004 Information Database (England) Regulations 2007 (the Regulations). Who is it for? The statutory guidance applies to local authorities and also applies to national partners, in relation to their responsibilities for managing users. Those subject to statutory guidance should follow this guidance and, if they decide to depart from it, must have clear and justifiable reasons for doing so. It also contains non-statutory guidance and is therefore relevant to everyone who will have access to ContactPoint, whether as a user, administrator or manager, and will help to ensure the appropriate use and operation of ContactPoint in compliance with the Regulations.
