Alcohol Advisory Service


The DAT is responsible for co-ordinating the development of alcohol services which have been identified as necessary through a local needs assessment.

There are identified areas for development which we will be prioritised as resources allow. The priorities and plans are detailed in the Isle of Wight Alcool harm Reduction Stratgey and the corresponding Plan. Both dicuments can be downloaded using the links below:

Alcohol is a legal substance but there are a number of laws governing the sale, purchase and consumption of alcohol in the UK. 

The effect of these laws is to criminalise certain types of behaviour e.g. drinking and driving, purchase by and sale to minors, drunkenness in public spaces.
