Choices - Year 11 & post 16
At the end of Year 11 you will be able to choose from a variety of options for example: college, sixth form, employment and training, as well as vocational qualifications. When you begin to look at the range of options available it can seem very confusing. It’s good that there is so much to choose from, as there really is an option to suit everyone; however it does mean that you will need to explore each option carefully before deciding what’s best for you. You can find out more by visiting the open evenings provided by the sixth forms and colleges, and information events offered by the training providers.
Look out in school for details of these events which usually take place in the autumn/early spring term of Year 11.
A very helpful National guide for Year 11 students called ‘It’s your Choice’ is available from Connexions. This explains the range of options available at the end of Year 11. It can be downloaded using the link below or you can order it direct from DCSF publications on 0845 602 2260.
