An Education Participation Advisor is someone who is trained to give advice and guidance to 13 to 19 year-olds (or up to 25-year-olds where individuals have special needs).
Your local Advisors can help with almost any issue that might arise. For example, they can help you to find appropriate work or training, offer support with personal problems, such as bullying or relationships at school, home or work as well as advise you on things like housing, money and benefits.
We also work closely with other professionals to ensure that your individual needs are met.
Although the activities and responsibilities of individual personal advisers vary, your personal advisers role is to:
  • ➢ Meet with young people to assess their needs and the level of support required.
  • ➢ Help individuals to identify their targets and to write a plan of action with them.
  • ➢ Provide information and advice on a range of issues, including lifestyle, money, housing and health.
  • ➢ Work with schools, colleges and other organisations, as well as with parents/carers, to co-ordinate support for you.
  • ➢ Keep in regular contact with young people to review their progress
It is our aim to make sure every young person has a positive and enjoyable life. To make sure we do this, we are working around five main priorities:
  • Be Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Be healthy
  • Achieve economic well being
  • Make a positive contribution
