Recycling Your Waste

The Kerbside Recycling Scheme

If you wish to take part in either of the kerbside recycling schemes you need to contact us on 821000 or email Highways or join on-line

Green Organic Waste Bucket

You will be provided with a small green bucket with a lid which can be used for the following:
W-Recycling-organics00
  • Fruit and vegetable peelings
  • Tea bags and coffee grounds
  • Bones
  • Egg shells
  • Left over cooked and uncooked food.




Just line your caddy with a plastic bag and place in your food waste.
The bucket is collected weekly at the same time as your normal domestic refuse.

The organic waste is collected by the same vehicle as collects your general domestic waste, but it is placed into the smaller compartment of the vehicle and taken to the composting facility.


FACTS & FIGURES
! Last year householders taking part in the green bucket scheme collected 1220 tonnes of organic waste.

! Approximately 18,000 households currently take part in the scheme - join now!.
