![]() | Wightbus is the operating name of the Council’s modern fleet of buses, coaches and midibuses. The Wightbus fleet comprises 27 vehicles with capacities ranging from 16 to 72 passenger seats. Over 40 vocationally trained drivers and passenger-escort staff are employed. Wightbus vehicles have a distinctive white livery with blue and gold bands. | ||
| The fleet undertakes a considerable proportion of the home-to-school transport requirement on the Isle of Wight, both for mainstream scholars and for students with special educational needs The Wightbus school lift provides transport for around 1200 students daily. The fleet also provides a large proportion of the transport required by Social Services to convey adults to various day care centres around the Island. Wightbus also operates a number of registered local bus services available to the general public over a variety of routes.
