Highway InspectionsThe Isle of Wight highway network is inspected by a group of Highway Superintendents, with 492 miles of road sorted into levels of importance. There are three types of priority that determine how many times each street is inspected over an annual period. Priority Inspection Annual - Once a Year Quarterly – 4 times a year Monthly – 12 times a year During the Inspections, all observed defects that pose any degree of risk to the highway user are recorded, with on-site judgement taking account of particular circumstances.
