FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Are you connected to NLIS (National Land Information Service)?Yes – at Level 2. We are able to receive Searches electronically together with a BACS payment. Completed searches are currently dispatched electronically. How long does a Search take? We aim to turnaround all Searches within 10 working days, however we often return searches much sooner. Our average turnaround time is currently 4 working days. Do I need to send a plan? Yes please, if one is available please send 2 copies. We can supply copies of Ordnance Survey plans for Search purposes for a fee of £5.00. Please give us details of the area you wish to search and include the additional fee when submitting your Search request. Please telephone 01983 823223 for this service or further advice. Do you answer the drainage enquiries? No - CON29 Drainage enquiries are answered by Southern Water - visit www.southernwater.co.uk. or telephone 01634 824100 Can you help regarding ownership of land/boundaries? No - this is dealt with by Land Registry – visit www.landreg.gov.uk. or telephone 02392 76 88 88 Can you fax the completed Search results? Yes – for an urgent reply we can fax the results ahead of the hard copy, for an additional £10, on your undertaking to pay. Please request this service either on your search application or telephone 01983 823221 whilst the Search is in progress. Can we collect an urgent Search result? Yes – by arrangement. Please telephone 01983 823221 to establish progress of Search. Before collection, faxed authorisation from the original applicant is required. (Fax. 01983 823224) How do I obtain copies of documents? If a copy of a recently made Local Authority Search is required, a fee of £6.00 is charged. Copy searches are only available to the original applicant on their undertaking to pay, by telephoning 01983 823221. If you require a copy of a Local Land Charge document (ie. revealed in connection with the LLC1) please contact the relevant department shown under Inspection Address on the LLC1 schedule. NB. An additional fee may be payable. If a copy of a Planning Decision Notice is required please contact 01983 823552 quoting the relevant Application Number (TCP...). NB. How much is a copy of a document and where do I send it?The following documents can be obtained by writing or telephoning the Local Land Charges Department for a fee of £16:- Agreements – Section 16, 52, 106, 38 & 40’s SSSI Agreements Tree Preservation Orders can be obtained from our Planning Department for a fee of £25 Any copies of Planning Decision Notices can be obtained from Planning at a fee of £10 each |
