Education

The education room has a reconstructed Roman kitchen with examples of food, pottery and cooking utensils.

The room is open to the public at most times but can be booked for school workshops.

Special rates for adult and school groups.

Free guided tours available for pre-booked groups

Community days held throughout the year with hands on craft activities, talks and tours.
Family activity classes run throughout the summer holidays.

The education room is full of practical activities to help you find out more about Roman life.

Discover more about Roman food and cooking. Try your hand at weaving a Roman style blanket. Want to be a builder? Arrange the roof tiles so that the rain runs away.

Standard visit includes a guided tour and use of the education room.

Enhanced School Visit

(Recommended visit time 2 hours / 2 hours 30 minutes)

Enhanced visit includes a guided tour, a facilitator led workshop and a self-guided photograph hunt.
£2.50 per child
