A proposal was made to withdraw the free parking facility for electric cars and environmentally friendly vehicles, defined as those in ‘Vehicle Excise Duty bands A & B with CO2 emissions of 120g /km or less’. (The general rule is any vehicles that are required to pay £35 or less car tax for a 12 month period.)
 

This proposal was approved at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 10 February 2010 and confirmed by Full Council on Wednesday 24 February 2010.
 
Therefore from 1 April 2010, low emission vehicles will no longer be granted free parking within the IWC car parks.
