Is there a charge for the Services?
Most of our services for children and families are free, but there may be a charge when children need to be cared for. In any case, the service is still free to anyone who receives Benefits.
Service User / Customer Rights
Users / Customers of Children’s Services have a right to:
- Be fully involved in the assessment process and informed of the decision as to the level of services, and where possible to be offered a choice
- A confidential Service
- Have you your child’s views and feelings recorded, including the right to complain, request that an alternative allocated Social Worker be considered, and to hold an opinion/view on the way the assessment or plan is being conducted or delivered
- A service which is free from discrimination, inappropriate language and poor practice
- View the records specifically held on you
- Be treated with dignity and respect
All these rights apply except if in upholding these rights we would put a child at risk of abuse or harm or when illegal/criminal acts have been disclosed.
