| Isle of Wight Council works in partnership with Island Waste Services to provide waste services to over 67,000 households across the Island. The council provides a weekly collection of general refuse, a weekly collection of kitchen and garden waste, and a fortnightly collection of dry recycling. Arrangements can also be made for bulky items including fridge / freezers to be collected. | The Isle of Wight Council has produced a Municipal Waste Management Plan, which describes how the council will sustain and improve its performance on waste prevention, recycling, collection, energy recovery and waste disposal over the next three years as it moves towards the development of a long term Municipal Waste Strategy.
