Garden Waste
Garden waste is not collected as part of the normal refuse collection service; please do not put it in normal rubbish sacks with your normal refuse.

To dispose of garden waste either: Take your garden waste to one of the household waste recycling centres Compost your garden waste at home Buy the special green sacks to have your garden waste collected Place the special green sacks kerbside for collection

Special green sacks
Green sacks can be purchased from local outlets (see list below) or directly from Island Waste. Sacks cost £1.30 each; If you order 5 sacks or more, the sacks can be delivered to you by Island Waste. Call them on 0800 328 3851 to arrange this. Place your filled green sacks on the kerbside next to your normal refuse and they will be collected on your normal collection day. The green sacks are put in the back of the vehicle with your normal refuse. Click here to find out how it is processed.



N.B Green sacks bought from supermarkets and other shops are not the correct sacks and garden waste placed out for collection in such sacks will not be collected.
