This section holds a collection of survey and research material about the Isle of Wight. It covers the social, health, economic and community status of the Island and much of the material directly relates to current and anticipated policy recommendations.

The original collation of material was funded financially and in kind by a partnership involving the Rural Community Council, the Rural Development Commission, the European Social Fund, Business Link, Wight Training and Enterprise and the Isle of Wight Council, and through the good will of the many other organisations and individuals who contributed information.

The original aim was to provide a comprehensive source of research based data to help support policy and resource planning, bids for funding and the targeting of developments and services across the island. This remains a key aim but in addition, it is intended that this part of the site will become the definitive on-line repository for research based material about the Isle of Wight.
