Learning Disability Team

COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER Ref: 179794

ADULT LEARNING DISABILITY TEAM, St Thomas’ Chambers, Newport

Scale 3, £15,725 to £16,830 per annum

Hours: 37 per week

Fixed-term contract for 6 months


We are looking for an enthusiastic and focused individual to join our busy social work team.

You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to promoting the independence of service users through the new Individual Budget arrangements. You will play a key role in assisting in the development of individual support plans using person centred planning tools.

Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability would be advantageous.

A formal qualification is not essential if you demonstrate the right qualities and aptitude however you need to be willing to undertake suitable training that underpins this post.
