Service Description: Tourist Parking Permits take the hassle out of parking for residents and visitors to the Island. Permits are available at all tourist information centres and many hotels and guest houses throughout the Island. They allow unlimited parking in any Council owner pay and display area and are available for various periods. Isle of Wight Council Cabinet member for Environment and Transport Edward Giles said "Following feedback from the tourism trade, the council has decided to defer the withdrawal of the Tourism Parking Permit from 1 April, ensuring it will be available for the forthcoming tourism season. "This will help businesses such as hoteliers who advertised the permits for visitors as part of their 2010 marketing. They will continue to be available up until the end of the main tourism season when they will then be withdrawn'.
