As the elected Member for Carisbrooke East, it is my role to represent those living within the ward. I live locally within the boundaries of the ward.

My primary function as a Councillor is to act on behalf of the residents of Carisbrooke East on issues which are relevant to this area.

I do have have other responsibilities at the Council, in my appointed role as Follows:
Member Champion for Civic Pride
Member of the Policy Commissionand Children and School Results.
Member of the Licensing Committee
I also serve on serveral outside bodies representing the Isle of Wight Council and an Executive Member for South East Employers.

I was very pleased and honoured to be elected on 5 May 2005 to represent the Residents of Carisbrooke East and my term of office lasts to May 2009. I would like to share my vision for a community base within the area and improve the environment we live in.

I hold my surgery at County Hall for any residents who wish to meet me and/or have issues they wish me to take up with the Council. Please telephone Customer Services on 821000 who will be pleased to make an appointment. Biography:	I was born in Barnstaple, Devon in November 1940 to an evacuated family and returned to South-West London in 1944 where I was educated. I commenced my working life in the city of London working for various companies in a financial field ranging from metals to fast food providers. I joined London Transport in 1964 as a conductor and progressed to an executive assistant within the personnel field of recruitment and training. During this time I met and married Lydia and now have three grown-up sons and five grandchildren. I moved to the Isle of Wight in March 1986 after the bus industry was de-regulated and went into the field of residential care for the elderly, licensed by the Isle of Wight Council.
