Edward Stephen Giles I was elected in June 2009 to represent all the electors of Whippingham and Osborne Ward for the following four years.

Biography:	I was born in Newport and have lived on the Island for most of my life. I am married with two adult children. I formerly worked as a solicitor in private practice in Newport but took early retirement in April 2009. I was elected to the Isle of Wight Council in June 2009 and have been appointed the Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport. This portfolio includes responsibility for highways, transport policy, traffic management, waste management, parks and countryside and coastal management.
