As the local member for Ashey, Havenstreet and Haylands, it is my role to represent those living within the ward on the Isle of Wight Council.

I was elected in May 2005 and my term of office lasts until May 2009. I am delighted and honoured that local residents have put their faith in me to be their representative on the Island’s authority.

Biography:	Vanessa Churchman is married with 2 sons of whom one, Peter, lives and works on the Island. A keen sportswoman she has run 3 London Marathons and still plays and umpires netball. She is an avid gardener. A business woman for over thirty years Vanessa currently operates a picture framing business in Bembridge yet still finds time to exercise by running and walking her dog: both "Walk the Wight" in aid of the Hospice. In addition to being the local member for Ashey and Havenstreet on the Isle of Wight Council, she has been elected as Vice-Chairman of Ryde Town Management Committee and has worked very hard to help raise the petition to push forward the emparishment of Ryde.
