List of Plans Held By Emergency Planning
| Emergency Planning has produced plans to cater for a number of different emergency situations. These are regularly maintained exercised and updated by the Service to ensure that Council staff can respond effectively to a range of incidents that might affect the Island, and that the response is co-ordinated with that of the Emergency Services and other agencies.

Major Incident Plan
A generic plan outlining the actions to be taken to respond as quickly and efficiently as possible, to a variety of different scenarios that may affect the Island.
Suspect Package Threat - County Hall
This plan outlines the method for evacuating County Hall and alerting surrounding premises.
Chemical & Biological – Mass Decontamination
A multi-agency plan for those who would be the first responders to an incident involving a deliberate chemical or biological release.
Disruption to Fuel Supplies
In the event of a wide-scale fuel shortage, a means of keeping key services operational as far as possible during any disruption.
Foot & Mouth
The purpose of this plan is to provide a clear background and practical guidelines to assist in providing a uniform approach in the event of a disease outbreak.
Interruption of Cross Solent Ferry Services
A means of mitigating the disruption caused to the Island, should there be a temporary or prolonged interruption to cross-Solent ferry services.
Major Accident Hazard Pipelines
To ensure that adequate arrangements are in place for dealing with incidents and emergencies involving a pipeline (oil, gas etc).
Oil and Chemical Spill Contingency
Actions to be taken in the event of pollution to the Island’s coastline by oil or chemicals.
Rabies
The purpose of this plan is to provide a clear background and practical guidelines to assist in providing a uniform approach in the event of an outbreak of rabies.
Sandown Pier - Multi-Agency Rescue
Actions to be taken in the event of a fire occurring on Sandown Pier, which has the potential to cause the public to become trapped, thereby putting lives at risk.
Temporary Mortuary
To enable the swift activation and establishment of a temporary mortuary on the Isle of Wight, in the event of a major emergency resulting in numerous fatalities.
Rest Centre
This plan is intended as a guide to the arrangements that are necessary for the establishment, activation and management of a Rest Centre to provide temporary accommodation in an emergency.
