iwight.com’s recital of key Island events
began in back in March 2007 when the recently crowned ‘King of
the Jungle’ from ITV’s “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out
of Here;” visited our very own Medina Theatre to make a surprise celebrity
guest appearance.
Renowned pantomime dame Christopher Biggins delighted audiences by reprising a slapstick role in Kenneth Branagh’s “The Play What I Wrote” which has enjoyed triumphant sell-out runs in the West End. The show was a celebration of Britain's greatest comedy double act - Morecambe and Wise. This three-night exclusive provided Islander’s with an ideal opportunity to support their local theatre.
Sticking with the celebration theme, The Heights Leisure Centre in Sandown
staged a weekend of events in March to commemorate their 25th year of opening.
Anyone associated with the Heights was invited to come along to a special
party which paid recognition to the hard work and dedication of key individuals
and employees who have played a central role in making the leisure centre
the success it is today.
