COMMENTS: Really sad to hear that White Air is moving to Brighton. We've been as a family for the last three years and have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and considered ourselves really lucky to have this on our doorstep. I understand the organisers want to expand (something more akin to the five-day event they put on over the August Bank Holiday last year) and there had been some problems with this. I remember a few complaining letters in the County Press from residents who weren't keen on the noise etc. Even so if the council could pull out all the stops to keep the event here that would be wonderful. I can't help but think Brighton has quite enough going on all year round (London by the sea and all that)and the Isle of Wight can ill afford to lose something with this sort of profile. Plus it's an inspiration for children and other young people which will be lost at a time when many people say the IoW children are not aspirational enough.
