National award for Island based SPBy our industrial correspondent
Sustainable developmentOn the same day - Nov. 26 - staff at SP found out that they had been awarded the winning place in the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Sustainable Business Awards, in the large company category. Through the Awards, SEEDA challenges businesses throughout the South East to embrace sustainability as a tool to secure social and economic objectives including enhanced competitiveness, greater innovation and greater consciousness of environmental issues. The judging panel were impressed by the extent to which SP has enhanced its business processes to simplify production and embraced new design techniques and products to reduce material wastage and reduce emissions while simultaneously improving health and safety standards.
