DEDICATED SEATS

The opportunity exists to donate a dedicated seat to commemorate a special occasion, this may include:

  • Memorial to a loved one
  • Memorial to a pet
  • Celebrate the birth of a baby
  • Anniversary
  • Birthday
  • For a Wedding, Valentines day, Christmas or New year

Dedicated seats may be located in various locations around the Islands, in one of our Parks, Gardens, Open Spaces or areas around the coast.

For a one off donation of £731.20 the Council will arrange to purchase the required seat together with an engraved plaque, transport and affix to the chosen location. Once donated a seat should last at least 10 years although in some more protected locations siting for over 25 years is practical.

Unfortunately we are unable to install additional seats to areas that are not under our management and control or have any over provision.

We have two types of benches which have been used by the Council for Dedicated Seats in many locations on the Island. Being hardwood each gradually ages from a honey colour to grey over its natural life.
