CORE STRATEGY

Submission Consultation

The online consultation for the Submission Core Strategy is available during the following dates:

Start Date:  Friday 12 December 2008
End Date:  5pm on Monday 9 February 2009

You may view the consultation document at: http://iow.limehouse.co.uk/portal/planning/cs/subcs

A pdf version of the document can be downloaded here.

Please note that any objections to this document have to be based on tests of soundness; it is not enough to simply say that you disagree with a comment.  Advice on the tests of soundness as set by the Government can be found on the Planning Inspectorate’s website here.

We would encourage you to comment online as it would help us to make better use of staff resources.  The report is also available to view in any of the libraries, County Hall Customer Services and Seaclose Reception.

Options Consultation

Public consultation on the Core Strategy Options report (8 August to 22 September 2008) has now closed but the report is still available to view here.

The consultation responses can now be viewed here.

Planning Policy Statement 12 – Revisions to the Consultation Process

As a result of the recently published Planning Policy Statement 12, we will be reviewing the Local Development Scheme. All documents other than the Core Strategy will be revised to take account of the new consultation process. However, the adoption and publication dates should remain the same. The Core Strategy will continue to progress with consultation, examination and adoption deadlines remaining unchanged.

However, until we are in a position to formally announce agreed revisions, please treat the current Local Development Scheme as the agreed one for the Island Plan, but be mindful of the fact that changes will occur.

Issues and Options Consultation

Public consultation on the Core Strategy Issues and Options report closed on Monday 10 March 2008. The report can be viewed here and a printable version of the document can be viewed here.

A full list of comments, in theme order, is now available to view here (this is a 139 page document, so may take some time to download). We are currently working on incorporating these comments, along with feedback from the workshops, into the Preferred Options report.

You can view the formal response from Civic Networks here, which include suggestions for transport solutions such as a new Ryde Harbour, Ryde Relief Road, Medina crossing, road improvements and a Fixed Link.
