LOCAL DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

LocalDevelopmentScheme00

Update – July 2008

As a result of the recently published Planning Policy Statement 12, we will be reviewing the Local Development Scheme. All documents other than the Core Strategy will be revised to take account of the new consultation process. However, the adoption and publication dates should remain the same. The Core Strategy will continue to progress with consultation, examination and adoption deadlines remaining unchanged.

However, until we are in a position to formally announce agreed revisions, please treat the current Local Development Scheme as the agreed one for the Island Plan, but be mindful of the fact that changes will occur.
For further details on Government’s planning reforms please see the Planning Bill and White Paper. If you require further information on the Island Plan please contact the Planning Policy team on 01983 823552.

Update – July 2007

The Council has reviewed its Local Development Scheme (LDS) and it was approved by the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) on 3 July 2007. The LDS is the formal project plan for the Island Plan.

The revised LDS sets out the timetable for producing the Island Plan, detailing the documents that will be produced. The timetable can be found as Appendix 1 and more details can be found in Appendix 2.

The first documents that the Council will be working on will be the Core Strategy and Sites Allocation Development Plan Document (DPD). Both these documents will incorporate the work already undertaken on the Bay and Medina Valley Area Action Plans.
