IW Health Report![]() |
The Health of the Isle of WightThese files support the NHS Primary Care Trust Director of Public Health’s 2005 Annual Report, and provide a picture of the health of the Isle of Wight, both currently and in terms of recent trends. They include a ‘General’ Section and specific ‘theme areas’ which broadly reflect the themes of the ‘Choosing Health’ public health white paper, as follows:
Within each theme area, the report addresses what we know about the prevalence on the Isle of Wight of specific illnesses connected with that theme area, and what we know about the lifestyle behaviours which are risk factors for those illnesses. Where possible the Isle of Wight’s position is compared with that of England and the South East region. The ‘Summary of Health Indicators’ file brings together this comparative information on one page. These reports have been prepared using information available in April 2006. They will be updated in the future to provide an ongoing review of the Island’s health.
