There
are a number of different meetings held across the Isle of Wight which
members of the Supporting People team attend. Below you can find details
telling you why certain meetings are held.

This body is a partnership which includes the Council’s Housing Department/Social Services, the Island’s Health Authority and a local member of the National Probation Service. They act as a governing body to the Supporting People Team, playing a key role in over seeing the way the support programme is being run on the Island.
This has members from a number of agencies and organisations, each of which has an on going interest with vulnerable people on the Island. This group is there to provide input to the plans made by the Commissioning Body in how the Supporting People programme is put forward locally.
Purpose of Group:
Aims:
1) To provide a platform for providers to share their views and exploring
common issues regarding the Supporting People programme.
2) To establish a two way dialogue between service providers and the authority
in order to enhance partnership working.
Objectives:
1) To share information to improve services including:
- lessons learned from QAF/reviews
- best practice including practices around service user involvement.
- best practice in terms of policies and procedures concerning the delivery
of support. 2) To identify any common training needs.
3) To share information regarding local and national developments.
4) To enable provider views to be taken into account in the formulation
of local Supporting People Strategies and Policies.
5) To enable providers to provide a co-ordinated response to national
consultations where appropriate.
6) To enhance providers' abilities to take local and national Supporting
People strategies into account in their own business plans
7) To receive information regarding the progress of the Supporting People
annual Plan and feedback into the annual plan.
