New Library Management SystemThe Isle of Wight Library Service is currently installing a new library management system called Spydus. This means that over the next three weeks from Tuesday 19th February we will only be able to run a limited offline service through each of our libraries. We will be able to issue, renew and return books and other library items, but we will not be able to take reservations or be able to consult the library catalogue. During this time the online functions of the library website and the 24 hour telephone renewal line will not be available. If you want to renew your library books during this period, please call in or ring your local library. In order to cause as little disruption as possible we are not stamping any books for return in the three weeks we will be in offline mode. Also we have arranged a fines amnesty which will continue until 5th April. This means that if you have any overdue items you can return them to the library without having to pay any charges during this period. When we go live with the new system in early March there will be a much improved web access to the library. Some of the new features include:
We apologise for any disruption you may encounter in the short term and hope that you will enjoy the new facilities that Spydus will bring to the library service. |
