Sandown and District Historical Association

At Sandown Library we have an exhibition of old Sandown photos throughout history, courtesy of the Sandown and District Historical Association. These are updated regularly and are well worth a look.

Computer Lessons

One to one hourly computer lessons are available at Sandown Library. Booking is essential. For more information contact Sandown Library on 402748 or Carol on 07971314504. Carol specialises in tuition for complete beginners or those who wish to brush up on their skills.

Find My Past

Sandown Library has free access to ancestry website Find My Past. Search for your ancestors in census records and use parish records to find births, marriages and deaths dating back to 1538! Pop in to the library for more information or give us a ring. Booking is a good idea but not always essential.

Knit and Natter

Knit and Natter takes place every Friday at 3.00pm at Sandown Library. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or a complete novice, come along and join in the fun. Free tea and coffee provided.

Meet Your Local Councillor

Local councillor Heather Humby is at Sandown Library every Saturday morning from 11.00 to 12.00. No booking necessary.

Free Family History Drop-in Sessions

Held between 10.00am and 11.00am on the fourth Friday of the month our Heritage Librarian will be here to help you solve any brick walls you’ve hit in researching your ancestry. Next session Friday 24th February.





Service Description: Children's and adults' books, large print books, talking books on tape, videos, DVDs, reference collection, newspapers, photocopying, fax service, free internet access, free computer access. Sandown Library also houses the Sandown Community Learning Room.
