The Isle of Wight Crematorium

Grounds, chapel and Book of Remembrance Room

The Isle of Wight Crematorium was built in 1961, and in the first year there were 308 cremations. The annual figures have risen steadily and now an average of 1,400 cremations per annum are carried out. Approximately 80% of deaths on the Island result in cremation, which is slightly more than the national average.
