ENFORCEMENT

No planning system is safe in its intentions unless the powers exist to take action (ultimately) against unauthorised work. The majority of complaints regarding unauthorised work fall into the following categories:
1
Operational development (building)
2
Change of use
3
Advertisements
4
Untidy Land
Most complaints are resolved without the need for formal action.

Enforcement can be complex and with a view to being open and transparent we have established an enforcement policy which explains our approach. We also offer a convenient service where certain Planning Applications (often the larger ones) are checked for compliance with policy consideration.

If you wish to report some unauthorised development we will be able to give you a better service if you could use the complaint record sheet alternatively please contact us.
