A great deal of information is needed to prepare adequate long term plans for the Island.

The team monitors the effectiveness of the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) policies and collects data on matters such as land use, employment, population and housing, for use in many aspects of the Council’s work.

In particular, the Council prepares an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR), which reports progress on the Island Plan and the performance of policies and objectives within its Development Plan Documents.

The most recent AMR is the report for 2009/10 which was submitted to the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) on 11 February 2011.

Previous AMRs can be downloaded below:

2008/2009
2007/2008
2006/2007
2005/2006
2004/2005

WHAT OTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE?

There are various sources for information about the Island. A lot of the data that we use is supplied to us by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

ONS have developed a website to share neighbourhood statistics, a site where you can look at data about specific towns, wards, counties, local authorities, or specific issues such as housing or economy.
