DISPOSAL OF FRIDGES & FREEZERS
Due to new European Legislation, there are now special arrangements in
place for the disposal of fridges, freezers and fridge freezers from domestic
properties.

| If you can, take the unit yourself
to one of the Civic Amenity Sites. There is no charge to leave it there.
Lynnbottom Civic Amenity Site, Briddlesford Road, Wootton.
Open 7 days a week, including Bank Holidays (not Christmas Day).
Summer opening hours - 7am to 10pm Winter opening hours - 7am to 7pm
Forest Park Civic Amenity Site, Forest Road, Newport.
Open weekends only 9.30am to 4.30pm
Afton Civic Amenity Site, Afton Road, Freshwater
Open weekends only 9.30am to 4.30pm

Collection of a fridge, freezer or fridge freezer can be arranged through
the Isle of Wight Council. There is a charge of £20 per
unit. Call on 823708 to arrange this service. There is, on average,
a two week waiting list for this service.
Householders can go to any waste contractor and arrange collection
and disposal. Charges will vary.

DISPOSAL OF UNITS FROM TRADE, COMMERCIAL AND BUSINESS PREMISES
The above arrangements do not apply to fridges, freezers and fridge freezers
which have been produced in the course of a business, trade or commercial
activity. It is illegal to deposit commercial waste at a Civic Amenity
Site.
