Air Sports

The Isle of Wight is a popular centre for recreational flying.

Paragliding near Freshwater Bay, IOW There are two small airports - at Sandown and Bembridge - and a number of clubs and flying schools. Sailplane flying, hang gliding, paragliding and light aircraft flying are all popular. Although close to larger airports such as Bournemouth and Southampton the airspace is relatively free over the Island.
