Paragliding
It's southerly position provides good weather with many flyable days and 12 flying sites within a 10 mile radius facing most wind directions. There is a good variety of terrain with cliff sites, thermal ridges, a challenging 15km cliff run and the possibility of flying sea thermals as well as the land based variety. Visiting pilots should contact the Isle of Wight Hang gliding and Paragliding Club If you don't fly and paraglider but want to learn, there are two BHPA recognised schools which operate throughout the year.
