PLAY RANGERS & I - PLAY

The Play Rangers have successfully completed it’s three year programme funded by the Big Lottery, aimed to promote and improve play provision for children and young people.

Play Rangers targeted their work to meet the five key outcomes of the Every Child Matters framework, by encouraging a healthy and happy lifestyle through play and community involvement.

The play rangers very quickly succeeded in promoting play opportunities across the island, encouraging the use of free open and structured play sessions in parks and open spaces in local communities. The play rangers hosted two National Play Day events during 2009 and 2010 with great success.
