Have you been walking with dinosaurs yet?
Visit Isle of Wight has partnered with BBC Worldwide, BBC Earth Films, Twentieth Century Fox and the Isle of Wight Council to celebrate the release of Walking With Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie which is released in cinemas this December.
A new visitor experience has been created to provide the public with a chance to see dinosaurs on the Island as they would have been millions of years ago.
A new augmented reality app has been launched to allow the public to be photographed walking with the ancestors of the dinosaurs featured in the upcoming movie.
The app can be downloaded from anywhere in the world – but will only be triggered into life at six locations on the Island - Yaverland, Bonchurch, Ventnor, Blackgang Chine, Compton and The Needles.
People with the app on their mobile devices will quite literally be able to go “Walking with Dinosaurs on the Isle of Wight”.
To find out how the app works, watch this short film: http://vimeo.com/70559951
More information about how to download the app and details on how to plan your dinosaur adventure can be found on Visit Isle of Wight's website here: http://www.visitisleofwight.co.uk/dinosaur-island/dinosaur-island-trail
- The word dinosaur means terrible lizard in Greek.
