Blue Badges

Apply for a Blue Badge

The Blue Badge scheme helps those with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport to park close to where they need to go.  Government has changed the way of assessing who gets a Blue Badge to make the process clearer and align it with wider disability benefit reforms. The Isle of Wight Council administers the scheme for the Isle of Wight on behalf of the Department for Transport.

The government provides information to enable you to find out more about who is eligible for a Blue Badge, which is available from here (PDF, 776KB, 15 pages).

In order to apply to Isle of Wight Council for a Blue Badge you must be a resident on the Isle of Wight and have a permanent and substantial disability which causes inability to walk or very considerable difficulty in walking.
