Safeguarding Adults Board
The Local Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB) was set up as part of the guidance under No Secrets2000 and is a partnership between Local Authority, Police, NHS, and the independent and voluntary sector. The Care Act 2014 has now placed this on a statutory footing. The functions of the LSAB are:
- To publish a strategic plan for each financial year that sets out how it will meet its main objective.
- To publish an Annual report detailing what the LSAB has done during the year to achieve its main objective.
- Conduct Safeguarding Adults reviews when an adult in its area dies as a result of abuse or neglect and there is a concern that partner agencies could have worked more effectively to protect the adult.
