Mick Keenan, Local Senior Officer and Head of Resilience

Mick manages the Technical Support, Operational Planning and Workforce Planning areas of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. He also manages the resources of 5 retained stations on the Island and ensures operational readiness of appliances and personnel within those stations. 

Mick started his career in 1986 with the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service before moving to the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in 1996.  He is proud to have experienced all areas of the service in what has already been a wide ranging and varied career.  He works within the Isle of Wight Council and with partners within the community at a local level, as well as other Fire Services at a regional and national level.

Mick is especially proud of the professionalism displayed by all staff within the Service over this period and acknowledged that their dedication is collectively making our community safer.

Justin Harden, Deputy Local Senior Officer and Group Manager, Prevention

Justin joined the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in September 1994 as a wholetime firefighter at Newport fire station.  He served on both Green and Blue Watch before being promoted in 2002.  Since that time he has worked in different roles and departments across the Service and is responsible for Intelligence and Risk, Technical Fire Safety and Enforcement, Community Safety and Road Safety. He also manages the resources of 5 retained stations on the Island and ensures operational readiness of appliances and personnel within those stations.
