Parking Strategy Consultation 2016 to 2021
The parking of all vehicles; cars, lorries, coaches, buses or cycles, is a key element in developing how our towns and businesses, tourism and leisure continue to operate within a local transportation network.
Parking enforcement forms part of a wider transport policy aimed at making the island safer for all. A draft Parking Strategy has been produced which outlines the Isle of Wight Council commitment to effectively managing the future of parking provision on the island.
The draft Parking strategy below takes a long-term realistic view of what is feasible and aims to support the needs of local residents, the business community and visitors. This strategy will ensure a fair and consistent approach to all elements of parking management, charging and enforcement across the Isle of Wight.
The consultation begins on 10 May 2016 and closes on 5 July 2016 and we look forward to hearing from you.
It is important that, as far as possible, the strategy reflects the views of residents and local businesses. We therefore encourage you to complete the online survey below and provide your views on the recommendations as presented in the draft strategy.
