Philo Cafe for the month of June will be held at The Beckford Centre in Beckford Road

Future dates and topics for philosophical discussion - Thursday 8th June 2017 7.00pm - 9.00pm Topic to be decided.

This is a monthly event, sponsored by the Society for the Furtherance of Critical Philosophy and is open to anyone who wants to take part in philosophical discussion about topics that matter in our lives, but in a casual way and is based on our own experiences.

Local Authors at Cowes Library

Cowes Library is hosting a gathering of some of the great adult and children's local authors on the Isle of Wight. The authors will be happy to chat about their work. See : -

Get your books signed or buy copies of their books on the day. Refreshments will be available courtesy of the Supporters of Cowes Library.

Cowes Library and Supporters will be at The Big Lunch at Northwood House and Park on Sunday 4th June from 12pm - 5pm.

We will be inside the House so come and see what the Library can do for you, see what groups you can join or even become one of our Libary Supporters.

Cowes Heritage Ongoing Exhibition: 'The development of Somerton airfield'

The ongoing Cowes Heritage display in Cowes Library is currently showing 'The development of Somerton airfield' containing a mixture of interesting local information on the people, places and businesses that have been involved over the years. The exhibition can be seen during normal opening hours and is changed on a monthly basis.

During May Cowes Heritage have placed a 75th Anniversary of the Defence of Cowes and East Cowes by the Polish Destroyer ORP Blysckawica Exhibition, in Cowes Library.
